Privacy Policy
Effective October 29, 2026
Rewind makes films from the photos and videos on your iPhone. Your photos and videos are analyzed on your device and never leave it. Rewind has no accounts and does not upload, store or share your photos, videos, faces, locations or films.
What we collect
To understand whether Rewind works, the app sends anonymous usage events: for example that a film was started or finished, how long it took, whether it was shared or exported, and coarse details such as film length and app version. If something goes wrong, it also sends the stage that failed and a short reason.
Each event carries a random device identifier that Apple provides per developer, which resets if you delete all our apps. Events are processed by PostHog (US) with IP addresses discarded.
What the app doesn’t collect
- Your name, email address or any account details. There is no account.
- Your photos, videos, file names, faces or the places they were taken.
- Precise counts of what’s in your library.
- Your location.
- The advertising identifier. We don’t track you across apps or websites.
Waitlist
If you join the waitlist on this website, we store your email address and the time you signed up, with Cloudflare. We use it only to email you when Rewind is on the App Store. We don’t share it or use it for anything else, and we’ll delete it if you ask.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple. We don’t receive your payment details.
Sharing
When you share a film, it goes where you choose (for example Photos, Instagram or TikTok), under that service’s terms.
Children
Rewind isn’t directed at children under 13.
Changes
